2012 Homecoming!
HOMECOMING IS COMING UP!
The Caruthersville School District invites the community and local businesses to help “Paint the Town Red” the weeks of September 10-21, in celebration of the Caruthersville High School Homecoming. Activities will include:
Paint the Town Red Contest:
Caruthersville Residents and Businesses are asked
to decorate yards, windows, store fronts, etc. in support of Tiger Pride. Those
participating are encouraged to use as much RED & WHITE as possible! Those
entering and wishing to be judged should contact Amanda Irvin no later than noon
on Wednesday, September 19. Judging will take place September 20. The winners
will be announced at the game on September 21.
Paint the Town Red “Homecoming “ Parade”:The Paint the Town Red Homecoming Parade will be held on September 21st, starting at 4:00. The parade will begin at the river front at proceed south on Ward Avenue, ending at the High School. C.H.S. graduates, former C.H.S. athletes, cheerleaders, kings and queens and Tiger Pride supporters are encouraged to participate! Let’s have as many Red and White entries as possible. Decorate your car, truck, trailer, bike or yourself… and enter the parade! To register your entry, contact Amanda Irvin.
Tiger Pride Tailgating:After the parade, enjoy tailgating in the Tiger Tailgating Territory located on the north end of the football field. Those wishing tailgate MUST reserve a spot. Those tailgating may watch the game from the tailgating area (bleachers will be provided or bring your own lawn chair). Each participating tailgater must purchase a $3.00 admission arm band. The arm band will allow tailgating participants the opportunity to watch the game from the tailgating area OR to enter the game and watch from the bleachers. Arm ban passes may be purchased in advance (when reserving your tailgating spot OR when entering the tailgating territory. For more information, or to reserve a spot, contact Amanda Irvin at the number or e-mail address below. Spots are filling up fast, so reserve your space today!
Football Homecoming Game:The football homecoming game will begin at 7:00. The Tigers will be playing the New Madrid Eagles. The crowning of the homecoming queen will begin at 6:00 p.m. A section of the bleachers will be reserved for CHS all classes who are returning for Homecoming and / or having class reunions Homecoming weekend. Anyone interested in setting up a booth at the game should contact Amanda Irvin at the address below.
Tours of Caruthersville High School:Returning CHS graduates or community members who would like to tour Caruthersville High School may do so on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. Those planning to attend should enter the main entrance of the building to begin the tour.

Matt Palmer, Caruthersville Native Pitches to the Cardinals!
Matt got a chance to pitch in St. Louis last night. I think we confused some fans sitting around us because we had been cheering the inning before to get the bullpen going and then when Matt came in we were cheering when he sat the Cardinals down in order. (Lee Bethune)

And Cards win with COMPLETE game by Wainwright! Matheny stuck with Adam with 2 on 2 out!
